MDDP Presentation 3 and 4 Feb 2011

Salam wbt and hello all.


Just to share with you guys, tomorrow, Feb 3 2011, my group mate and I will have poster and slide presentation following oral presentation on the next day which is Friday indeed.

Having knowing my group mate of Tesla Transit High Speed Train Group 2 for 3 months had encouraged me to work better with foreigner as well as local students. All of us came from different background of engineering fields.

We have been assigned to design a high speed train to cater increasing demand in the UK, calling at London, Leeds, Newcastle and Edinburgh as our route.

We proposed a magnetic levitation, Maglev train system instead of using standard wheel - on - rail train system,just after meeting and meeting and meeting.

We completed inception report, minutes meeting as well as final report. At the moment, we will face the finale battle to present secret recipe of our research in poster, slide as well as oral presentation.

I particularly been assigned to carry out research in power requirement specifically for propelling the vehicle and yet been collaborated with another colleague in preparing financial forecast. Indeed, that is a good experience for me to recap back as well as learning something new about financial which I believe sometimes people might take for granted, I might say.

Reading after reading of bunches of articles, I believe, there are some point I can raise up in term of power required. To compensate the losses such as aerodynamic drag, inefficiency of propelling force as well as inefficiency of magnetic drag are been considered.

Ahha, you know what, we decided to follow Transrapid design because at the moment, Transrapid is the only company that has a proven evidence of real time use of Maglev system, though, they did not test the Maglev vehicle in such large scale. Hence, I can say, if UK government might use our proposal, then, UK will have a large scale train renovation in term of using magnetic levitation having a speed of 460 km/h as we suggested and become a leading country to use Maglev in large scale.

Though, our research have been compressed as just three months of workload, somehow, I believe the quality behinds our research is totally useful for all of us to understand how the Maglev works. Though again I just completed merely in power and financial section, still, I can talk bit about other people work as we do meet every week since October 2010 to discuss any potential and any opportunity which we believe beneficial for us.

I am so glad to share with you guys that I have been greatly worked with a very helpful group mate. All of us try to improve anyone which is left behind. This spirit should be within all muslim which I believe again, not all muslim nowadays have in their mind and heart. I may be wrong. From my observation, the local student, they have a very keen work and mind to comprehend with and they have lots of question to ask. I hope this can be absorbed by all Malaysian who study abroad and take the spirit back home and share with others.

Fuh, will share more later. Need to prepare myself for bedding time, zzzzz.
